How Do U Drive A Sailboat

Teatro Garibaldi

Teatro Garibaldi
stands in the way Castrofilippo, Kalsa district, behind the church of Maggione. The construction date is uncertain, probably in 1861. Conceived and designed by musician and composer Peter Cutrera, Maestro di Cappella, who completed it at his own expense in 1862. It seems it was inaugurated by the same Giuseppe Garibaldi June 28, 1862, and that has profited from this opportunity to encourage the stage number 10, then renamed to "lodge of the people", the shipment of Aspromonte, for the conquest of Rome as the capital of the new kingdom, the cry of "O Rome, or death."

The horseshoe-shaped hall, had 168 seats in the stalls, a total of 48 stages, arranged in three tiers and a small gallery.
was restored by the first of the 900 family Carini, new owners, housed mainly comic operas and popular shows.
In 1943 necessary after the restoration of damage caused by the bombings of World War II, his artistic direction was entrusted to Gino Buzzanca, uncle of the actor Lando. In 1951 he became, inexplicably, the third run movie theater and then saw him deteriorate before, venue for boxing matches and then storage of scrap and miscellaneous waste.
In 1966 it was restored thanks to the teacher Angelo Musco, with his great commitment and economically.

In 1968 The earthquake of 14 and Jan. 15 damaged the theater was in need of maintenance, but these were never completed. Also because the New Year of 1969 was less generous to the living and the art teacher Angelo Musco, just 43 years, leaving no heirs and his incomplete project or cultural.
In 1983 the City of Palermo gave to the cultural associations and social cooperatives.

Now, it seems, from the images shown that ; more than a restoration, have done work for a total reconstruction of the historic theater, without having left any
vestiggia ancient.

ancora nessuna nuova ! Buona nuova?

Conoscendo il grande interesse che i palermitani nutrono per il teatro, se non per puro e vano diletto ,
ne dubitiamo!
